A 4-week adult foundation course for total beginners. No experience required.

Master the most versatile medium in a professional studio setting.

The Experience

Stop scrolling and start creating. This February, award-winning artist Bartosz Beda is opening his private studio in Richardson for a small, intimate cohort of students.

This is not a “paint-by-numbers” craft night. This is a university-level introduction to the Acrylic Medium, stripped of the academic pressure. Acrylics are the perfect starting point for new artists—they dry fast, they are non-toxic, and most importantly, they are forgiving.

In this course, you will learn the fundamental “language” of paint. Whether you eventually want to paint landscapes, portraits, or abstractions, this course gives you the technical toolkit to start.

February Studio Series: Intro to Acrylic Painting

What you will learn:

  • Week 1: The Medium. Understanding brushes, water control, and how to create texture vs. smooth washes.
  • Week 2: Color Mastery. How to mix any color from a limited palette (so you stop buying muddy tubes).
  • Week 3: Layering & Depth. The secret to professional-looking paintings: building layers without getting “stuck.”
  • Week 4: Completion. How to finish a painting, varnish, and know when to put the brush down.
