Master the medium with university-grade instruction, from absolute beginners to advanced artists.
Only 3-spots left!
Most art classes in the North Texas area focus on casual entertainment and social “sip and paint” sessions, where you follow a leader to create a copy of a picture.
At the Bartosz Beda Art Academy (Art Be You), we do something different. We provide university-level, academic fine art instruction designed to help you master the “System of Seeing” in a professional studio setting.
In an era of digital exhaustion, the studio serves as a way to detouch from computer or phone screen. Our courses are designed for the modern professional, from corporate executives to blue-collar specialists, who are looking to trade “doom scrolling” and screen fatigue for a high-level creative challenge. We move beyond the passive consumption of images and into the active, educational process of constructing them. This is a space to disconnect from the noise and build a hands-on experience skill that rewards your focus and presence.
Whether you are an absolute beginner who has never held a brush or a practiced artist looking to break through a technical plateau, this course is designed to remove the guesswork from your practice.

The "Art Be You" Method
The 3-Step System: Skeleton, Muscle, Skin
My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that a painting is not a flat image, but a constructed object. To achieve professional results, every student is taught my signature 3-step approach:
- The Skeleton (Drawing & Composition): We begin by defining the bones. We don’t paint “objects”; we map the relationship between geometric planes. This ensures your painting has structural integrity before we ever open a tube of color.
- The Muscle (Blocking-In): This is where we establish the weight and value. We focus on the “Squint Test” to see the world as masses of light and shadow. If the values are correct, the color will succeed.
- The Skin (Refining & Details): The final layer is where we investigate the “archaeology of the surface.” We apply texture, manage “lost and found” edges, and add the highlights that make the painting breathe.
The Science of Color Logic
In this course, you will learn to stop relying on “convenience colors.” We do not use “flesh” or “sky blue” straight from the tube. Instead, we master the Limited Palette. You will learn the chemistry of pigments—how to use a “Ferrari Red” (Pyrrole) and “Cobalt Hue” to mix an infinite spectrum of harmonious, vibrating colors that “tube colors” can never replicate.

The Materials Advantage
Professional-Grade Materials Included
One of the primary barriers for new students is the hidden cost and confusion of buying art supplies. At Art Be You, I eliminate that friction. Your tuition includes access to the exact professional-grade materials I use in my own international practice.
What we provide at every easel:
- Premium Paint Tubes: We use professional-series paints from brands like Golden and Liquitex. You will feel the difference in “tinting strength” and viscosity that student-grade paints lack.
- The Toolset: Access to high-quality Flats, Filberts, and Rounds, as well as professional palette knives and cleaning agents.
- Prepared Surfaces: We provide the canvases and panels, ensuring they are properly primed with Gesso so your colors stay vibrant and don’t “sink” into the material.
- Instructional Scaffolding: For complex projects, I help pre-sketched your paper or canvas canvases. This allows you to bypass the “anxiety of the blank page” and focus 100% on the mastery of the brushstroke.
About the Master: Bartosz Beda, MA
Twenty Years of Investigation
When you study at Art Be You, you aren’t just taking a class; you are entering into a dialogue with twenty years of professional experience.
Bartosz Beda holds a Master of Fine Arts from the Manchester School of Art and has been recognized as a “One to Watch” by the BBC. His work is held in private and public collections globally, and he has completed prestigious residencies, most recently at Angelo State University.
Bartosz has served as an adjunct professor at institutions like Southern Methodist University (SMU) and the University of Idaho. He founded Art Be You to bring that same level of university-grade, rigorous instruction to the Richardson and Dallas community. His goal is to help you build a “System of Seeing” that stays with you long after you leave the studio.
FAQ & Enrollment
Q: I can’t even draw a stick figure. Is this for me?
A: Yes. This course was designed specifically for absolute beginners. We provide the “Scaffolding” (pre-sketched foundations) so you can focus on mastering the craft without the frustration of the blank page.
Q: I haven’t painted since high school (or ever). Is this too advanced for me?
A: Not at all. I meet every student at their current level. We provide the “Skeleton” so you can learn the “Muscle” and the “Skin.” Most of my students start as absolute beginners and are shocked by the professional quality of the work they produce in just 4 weeks.
Q: What is the studio atmosphere like?
A: The studio is a quiet, and professional. We value “Deep Work.” While the environment is supportive and social, the emphasis is on concentration and the shared silence of creation.
Q: Why a 4-week course instead of a single class?
A: Real skills require repetition. By meeting once a week for 3 hours, your brain has time to process the “system of seeing.” You aren’t just making a picture; you are rebuilding your neural pathways for observation.
Q: Do I need to bring anything?
A: Just yourself. I provide everything: paint, brushes, easels, aprons, and water containers. We recommend wearing “studio clothes” you don’t mind getting a little paint on!
Q: Why $50 per session when other places are $35?
A: Generic art classes are focused on entertainment. At Art Be You, you are receiving a university-level education, 1-on-1 mentorship from an internationally exhibiting artist, and access to professional-grade materials that would cost you hundreds of dollars at a retail store. We are an Academy dedicated to your growth as an artist.
